​Dr. Glynetta Fletcher

Keynote Speaker
Dr. Fletcher, preferably called Fletch, is a strategist, educator, and advocate dedicated to reshaping how we support boys in today's complex world. With a background in organizational leadership and educational equity, Fletch brings over twenty years of experience working in schools supporting students who deserve the most yet too often receive the least.

Fletch's work focuses on teaching teachers how boys learn and how to move beyond surface-level solutions into lasting impact. Known for blending research with lived experience, Fletch is not afraid to name hard truths or ask the uncomfortable questions that lead to transformation. 
At the core of her work is a belief that supporting boys isn't about fixing them—it's about creating environments that allow them to be seen, heard, and challenged in the right ways. 

Fletch speaks nationally on topics such as the emotional development of boys, school culture reform, trauma-informed systems, and leadership accountability and does so with the clarity, humor, and depth this work demands.

John Hensley

Host
In 2000, John Hensley founded Flypoet Entertainment with a goal to elevate the visibility and value of spoken word as a genre and spoken word artists. Since then, Flypoet events have seen tens of thousands of people come through their doors to experience highly produced events featuring the most accomplished and sought-after performance poets in the country. With added elements of live music and performance art, along with a commitment to providing artistically and culturally significant entertainment, Flypoet events have become widely regarded as the premier spoken word productions in the United States. As host as well as producer, John still has fun creating new formats and keeping them flowing on stage. Mathew “ Cuban’ Hernandez

Spoken Word Artist
Matthew ‘Cuban’ Hernandez is a poet, emcee, speaker, actor, and performance coach from Jacksonville, Florida. He has toured as far as Abu Dhabi and nearly every major city in the United States and Europe, performing, teaching and coaching poetry. A teaching artist for over 15 years, Matthew has spent the last ten years working in youth detention centers across Los Angeles County, currently serving as the Director of Camp Programming for Street Poets, Inc. In addition, he is a current Lead Teacher and Co-Founder of Spoken Literature Art Movement. 
Cuban has opened for artists such as Wu-Tang, performed for platforms such as BuzzFeed and NPR and even appeared on the award-winning television show, Better Things. For the last two summers Matthew lead an arts and culture delegation to perform, teach and speak in Havana Cuba. Matthew is also a three time Southern Fried poetry slam champion and an award-winning poetry coach. Leading both Da Poetry Lounge Adult team and Get Lit Words Ignite youth team to multiple finals appearances at National and International Poetry competitions. Cuban’s favorite activity is making people feel great; sometimes he does this through hip hop, poetry and healing circles.

​We develop positive young male and female leaders to prevent the rise in gang affiliation, juvenile crime, and high dropout rates.  Through our Boys to Men & Sisters of Boys to Men Enrichment Program as well as our  African American Academy, we offer tutoring, extracurricular activities, and counseling.  After attending the program, these young men & women will value education, be more confident, and have a positive perspective for the future.

Since 2003, The T.Y.M.E. Foundation:
  • Has aided over 19000 inner-city young men and women from the African-American and Latino communities.
  • Received a Certificate of Recognition from the Los Angeles City Council for their community involvement
  • Was part of a major fundraising drive to raise money for The American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Fund
  • Joined with The Faith in Christ Ministries to feed the Homeless during Thanksgiving 2005
  • Acknowledged and visited by former Los Angeles City Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
  • Received a Certificate of Appreciation from UTLA for their volunteer service at the African American Education Committee Conference

The Boys got to go to a Basket Ball Game at UCLA accompanied by Graduates. Go Bruins!
Our goal is to assist inner city male youth in developing good judgment, self-esteem, integrity, and self-sufficiency as they matriculate from boys to young men.

The young men of The Boys To Men Enrichment Program pay special tribute to the wonderful women in their lives.

The women were presented with a rose and a letter to signify gratitude and appreciation for being women who empower, provide for, and support their sons.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.
